HOW TO FIND RESUME KEYWORDS AND WHY YOU NEED THEM
What's all this talk about keywords? We're told they're essential to a job search -- we should use them in our resume and cover letters and use them when searching for job openings. But what are they really, and how do you know you're using the right ones?
Keywords are specific words or phrases that job seekers use to search for jobs and employers use to find the right candidates. Keywords are used as search criteria in the same way you do research on the Internet. The more keywords you use, the more closely the job will match what you're really looking for.
For example, if you type the word "retail" into a search engine, you'll get literally thousands of job descriptions. But if you type the phrase "merchandising manager," you're going to get fewer and more useful results.
Get keyed up.
Most job postings are loaded with industry- and position-specific buzzwords. Take your cues straight from the source and include those same words in your resume. To find more keywords, research industry trends and visit professional association Web sites to uncover current buzzwords -- especially those used by the hiring company or industry leaders.
Don't get lost in translation.
Most companies use applicant tracking software, which scans resumes for keywords relating to skills, training, degrees, job titles and experience. Make sure your resume gets through the gatekeeper -- present your qualifications as if the reader is comparing the words on the resume to a list of desired qualifications.
Remember the magic words.
Here are some specific examples of popular keywords. Make sure to also use keywords that are specific to your industry.
Strategic planning
Performance and productivity improvement
Organizational design
Infrastructure development
New media
Internet
E-commerce
Change management
Team-building
Leadership
Competitive market
Product positioning
Investor and board relations
Oral and written communications
Problem-solving and decision-making
MBA
Project management
Customer retention
Business development
Corporate vision
Long-range planning

An All New Type Of Cover Letter
Heres The Latest And Most Effective Cover Letter I Was Able To Find
1) You just wrote a concise cover letter. Check.
2) You let them know you were available for an interview. Check.
3) You attached your resume. Check.
4) You stamped, addressed, sealed and mailed the resume. Check. Check. Check. Check.
Now you sit by the phone waiting for the calls to come in -- the calls you were sure would flood your line setting up your schedule full of job interviews. But the phone doesn't ring and now your frustrated... again.
Put an end to that cycle. Worry no more. Take a deep breath. Relax. Here are three sure-fire ways to take back control and win more interview opportunities immediately.
1. Write a NEW kind of cover letter. ASK for the job interview and mean it. No polite suggestions or innuendos. Be upfront, clear and direct.
"I would appreciate meeting in person to discuss the position of [fill in job title here]. I will adjust my schedule to meet yours. What time and date work best for you? I welcome the opportunity for a personal interview." (Now THAT'S a statement that all but demands a response.)
"May we schedule an interview when it works best for you? [Insert company name here], is at the top of my list of companies I'd like to work for and I'd love to meet with you in person to discuss the position of [fill in job title here]." (Another nice, clear and direct statement to be called for the job interview).
2. Dial an interview. Wait for several days after you mail your cover letter. Then pick up the phone and call the person in charge and ASK for an interview person-to-person. Don't sound pushy, just eager to get together. Your enthusiasm will impress him/her. Example: "Are you free for thirty minutes on Wednesday afternoon? I would love to interview for the position of [fill in job title here] and feel I'm a great fit for this job."
3. Send an e-mail. Professionals today rely on e-mail for quick messages. Use this effective means of communicating to your advantage. Follow up your original cover letter with an e-mail reminder. Something like this will work.
Dear Mr./Ms. Smith:
On September 12th I sent a cover letter and resume to apply for the position of sales manager at Sunshine Corporation. I'm sure you have many applications to sort through but I feel confident that I'm just what you're looking for. I would welcome the chance to interview for this position and am asking for that opportunity when your schedule permits. Thank you for taking a moment to read my request. I look forward to meeting with you in person shortly. Now that's the Cover Letter That Will Get You Hired...Staying ahead of the competition.

The Two Most Powerful Cover Letters
Very few job seekers know about the 2 most powerful cover letters, and there missing out on what could pave there way to the top-when searching for the job they Really want.
Are you wondering what I'm talking about? Am I saying there's more to a cover letter than meets the eye? Yes, That's exactly what I'm saying!
With millions of men and women searching for a new job each and every day.How can, or should I say how do you stand out from the crowd and get to where you want to go? By trying something unique. Forget black and white letters. Color your approach with these winning cover letters.
#1: The Networking Cover Letter
The networking cover letter is a flexible hard-working tool that will help you reach the individuals in your life who can assist you the most--family members, friends, neighbors, colleagues, and professional acquaintances. And also consider all the people in each of their lives. Ask your friends and relatives for their employment leads, referrals from their circle of influence, and for personal introductions, as well.Do not under estimate the power of a networking cacer letter.
You should get started quickly by creating a master list of the names of everyone who comes to mind. Look at your collection of business cards. Flip through association rosters and other directories, e-mail address books, and all lists of groups you are affiliated with. Then write or e-mail a networking cover letter to each person on the list, asking for help. Do not allow that to get you discouraged if this takes a bit of time. It's a good investment in your future--one that will pay off--I promise. Remind yourself as you do this exercise that the more people who know about you and what you want and need, the greater the results.
Here Are The Top Networking Cover Letter Tips:
# Focus your message on one page.
# List your strengths and abilities.
# Ask for referrals and job leads.
# Attach your resume to the cover letter.
# Write a thank you note to those who respond.
2: The All-In-One Resume Cover Letter
The All-In-One resume cover letter is a two-for-one because it combines the best of a cover letter and resume. And it is a powerfull tool, in fact it is a tool you'll want to use again and again because it catches the interest of headhunters, recruiters, and placement agencies where brevity and speed are essential. It also works well for networking because it is brief and easy to scan.
Pull together the most important points from your resume and put them in a bulleted list within the letter itself. Limit yourself to one page. This amazing document will help you make your point, ask for what you want, and produce results-the job you're looking for.
If you take the time to sit down and write these power-packed cover letters you will increase your 'net' worth: the networking cover letter combined with the all-in-one resume cover letter. Two resume examples that will give you an edge. Then just get ready to take action on the responses you receive. And don't forget to follow up each response with a thank you! My Secret Will Put Your Resume In The Top One Percent
There are a few ways to write a winning cover letter but there is only one way to put yours in the top 1% of all cover letters ever written. What NY NURSE CAREER is about to share with you now will put yours in an elite group.
Expert marketers have been using this secret for decades. Why? Because it is truly the one strategy that will work for you every time. And yet, you will rarely, if ever, see this technique used in a cover letter.
In advertising, the bottom line is selling the product. In a cover letter, the bottom line is selling yourself so you will win an interview and then the job. I have heard clients bragging about their success rate, and how this secret works like a charm. Thousands have experienced a huge increase in interviews and job offers. You can too.
Now you can make this secret your own.
End your job-search cover letter with a postscript--a P.S. It may be hard to imagine that such a small thing could make such a big difference, but it can and you'll see for yourself as soon as you start using it. No one can ignore a P.S. It practically jumps off the page and demands to be read.
Just stop and think about all the letters and e-mails you receive. If you notice a P.S. you probably skip right to it. It seems almost more important than the communication itself. It's that powerful.
The purpose of the P.S. is to motivate the reader to act-whether buying a product or offering an interview for the job you want. The mighty little P.S. is the perfect tool to call the reader to action.
Here are the top 3 examples of how to use the P.S. in a cover letter
P.S. I will follow up with a phone call on September 15 to confirm that you've received my application. I would love the opportunity to meet in person for an interview. You can reach me right away at 222-222-2222. Thank you in advance.WOW sounds good doesnt it.
P.S. May I have the opportunity to be interviewed for the (just insert your job opening title here)? I'd welcome meeting you and discussing what I can bring to your company. Again, I can be reached directly at 222-222-2222 to schedule an interview at your earliest convenience. Thank you!
P.S. Once again, I'd like to restate my desire to interview for the position of (insert the job opening title here). (Company name) is at the top of my list of organization I'd like to work for. I can be reached immediately at 222-222-2222. Thank you for your time and this opportunity.
Who could ignore the power of such a P.S.? In each of the previous examples, the job seeker clearly and directly ASKS for the job interview and states what action he'd like the reader to take. You can also use the P.S. to restate why you believe you're a prime candidate for the job.
More Tips for using the P.S. (postscript): Place the P.S. at the bottom left of your cover letter. To make it stand out use bold text or italics. Do not use both.
P.S. Keep in mind that people are trained to read a P.S. so make sure you include one in your next cover letter.
P.P.S. One more thing, please! Remember where you found this'secret' and keep it to yourself.

Embellezca Su Reasume Sin Mentir
Embellezca Su Reasume Sin Mentir

Defínete a ti mismo y tu mensaje

NY NURSE CAREER
Quick Reumes Work Best Write Yours In Less Than An Hour
Write Your Résumé in an Hour Natalie Ostrom, Jist Publishing
Too often people spend so much time trying to perfect their résumé, they lose sight of their real goal -- to find a job. You've probably heard your friends, family members or even yourself say that you will start looking for that new job as soon as you get your résumé put together. And then a month or year passes and you still haven't finished the first step toward a new career. Résumés don't have to be hard to create, they don't have to be time-consuming, and they don't have to be intimidating.
Plain and simple: a résumé is a one- or two-page summary of your life and employment history. According to Michael Farr, author of "Same-Day Résumé" (JIST), before you begin the writing process, you should learn what to expect from your résumé.
"As a first step in creating a résumé, examine what a résumé is and consider what it can and cannot do," Farr says.
A résumé presents you to prospective employers. It serves as your introduction and is often used in their screening process. It may get you an interview and it may not, it all depends on what that particular employer is looking for in a new employee.
Don't depend on your résumé to do your job search for you......Resume Tips NY NURSE CAREER

How Do I Make Myself Look Good Without Lying
Six Ways to Embellish Your Résumé Without Lying Kate Lorenz, CareerBuilder.com editor
Most of us accept the fact that, many times, a sales pitch tends to stretch the truth: That stain remover really can't make a grape juice stain disappear from white carpeting "like magic," and Sea Monkeys aren't really cute little mermaid-like creatures that frolic around in an underwater kingdom.
But stretching the truth on your résumé, even though it is the equivalent of a sales pitch promoting you, is never acceptable.
Of course, you may not have to endure the public humiliation David Edmondson, former CEO of Radio Shack, did when newspapers across the nation reported he resigned after admitting the degrees listed on his résumé were "incorrect." And Oprah isn't likely to rip you on her show like she did James Frey when false portrayals of his past in his "non-fiction" memoir "A Million Little Pieces" were uncovered. But the point is, while you may feel the need to pump up your résumé to grab an interviewer's attention and land that prized position, eventually these "little white lies" will catch up with you.
So how can you enhance your résumé without going overboard? Try some of these tricks: NY NURSE CAREER

What Not To Wear To A Job Interview
What is the worst outfit ever worn to a job interview? For a career services director at the University of Chicago, it was the applicant who sported a Madras tie as a belt and a patterned cotton hat. Other contenders, according to a CareerBuilder.com survey of hiring managers, include candidates with dirty fingernails, micro-miniskirts, t-shirts with offensive slogans and even bare feet!

Resume Distribution Network
The trend for several years now has been for job seekers to post their resume on various employment web sites. These sites then charge recruiters and employment agencies large fees to search for candidates.
Instead of taking the time to post your resume to all the job boards, then hoping recruiters will use the correct keywords to find your resume, we distribute your resume directly to recruiters working in your field. This is targeted, proactive resume distribution to the professionals who represent thousands of companies with great jobs. Recruiters and employment agencies work virtually every open job position including an overwhelming amount of confidential or "hidden market" jobs not posted or advertised.
There is no need to spend time researching recruiters and employment agencies; let us do the work for you. You can spend your time preparing for interviews! Choose a resume distribution package from the table above to begin the sign up process or learn more.
High Tech Resume Tricks To Get The Job
5 High-Tech Tricks to Use in Your Job Search
CareerBuilder.com
It seems like just about everything and everyone has gone high tech. From refrigerators with built-in computers to high-powered handheld devices, technology is touching nearly every aspect of our lives. The job search process is no exception. While the traditional approach, with a focus on networking, strong resumes and solid person-to-person interviews, is still king, technological advances are in job hunters' game plans across the country. If you are looking to enhance, here are a few areas to explore.
1. Tech Savvy Resumes
Many candidates opt to send their resumes to companies via e-mail, or choose to submit resumes directly through company or job search Web sites. Because of new Internet and e-mail technology, it pays to ensure your resume is technologically sound. When creating your resume, you should create the following formats:
Traditional resumes: These are the typical, ink and paper resumes which are nicely formatted, professional, and eye-catching.
ASCII, or "plain text" resumes: These are simplified versions of your resume, focusing solely on content. Plain text resumes have the advantage of being readable, no matter what computer system the reader is using. In a plain text resume, avoid italics, unusual fonts, and other fancy formatting. You can create a plain text resume by opening your resume in your word processing program and performing a "save as" function, selecting to save the document as "plain text." ASCII resumes are best used when filling out online resume posting forms, which tend to convert resumes to plain text.
Scannable resumes: Many companies prefer to receive scannable resumes, which are run through scanners with character-recognition capabilities. Companies then utilize applicant-tracking system software (ATS) to match stored resumes with open positions via keywords. For example, if a company is seeking a position with specific graphic design skills, the software will automatically select the resumes that include those skills. Therefore, you must make sure the right keywords are included in your resume.
2. Personal Resume Web Sites
For fields in which portfolios are necessary for the job search process, some candidates are finding that building a personal resume Web site is a convenient way to show off skills and accomplishments. You can develop a Web site that includes examples of your work such as articles, software you developed, artwork or photography and more. You can also include other items such as letters of recommendation.
3. Other Portfolio Options
Having a thick portfolio is important in many industries, and in the past this meant lugging around a huge binder or oversized case full of work examples. Today, a portfolio can be small enough to fit in your briefcase. You can burn all of your materials on a CD, or even create a PowerPoint presentation that shows off your best work. These tools can be put on display during an interview, or left behind for the company to examine once the interview is completed.
4. Video Portraits
If you're not camera shy and really want to be tech savvy, you can tape an interview of yourself and post it on your resume Web site for employers to review. This can give the employer an example of your poise right off the bat. There are many options for how to do this, including creating your own video file using a digital camcorder or by utilizing a professional service.
5. Online Networking
Think you can only meet people at real, live networking events? Think again. There are a wide variety of online portals in which professionals can network, meet others in the field, and make great contacts. Most professional organizations have message boards and online forums, and there are many other sites such as LinkedIn (www.linkedin.com) and WorldWit (www.worldwit.org) that tout themselves as networking forums Try Our Resume Service
